Types of Air Conditioning
Single-split system
A single split system Is where an individual outdoor unit (condenser) is supplying one indoor unit, these systems are a cost-effective way of heating and cooling open-plan offices or individual office/rooms.
A split system can offer many different indoor options:
- Wall mounts
- Cassettes
- Compact cassettes
- Floor standing units
- Bulkhead units
- Ducted units
- Under ceiling units
VRF / VRV
These types of systems open a wide range of options within heating and cooling, with cutting condenser space down and connecting many indoor units. These systems are inverter driven technology ensuring running costs are kept to a minimum, with many indoors units connected options could be different in two ways. A 2-pipe system or a 3-pipe system, if you have a large open plan area a 2 pipe system would be beneficial as you can’t control individual units to have its own mode, only temperature and fan speeds can be changed.
With a 3-pipe system it gives you a full range of options where all indoor units can be controlled to have its own mode, temperature, fan speed. This type of system works very well in open plan areas and offices or if you have several individual offices you can combine them all to work on its own demand.
Multi-split system
A multi split system is where one outdoor unit 9condenser) supply’s 2-5 indoor units, each indoor unit can be individually temperature controlled with in the mode of heating or cooling.
Twin, triple, and quad systems
These types of systems are where 2-4 indoor units are being served by one outdoor unit (condenser) but only has one point of control.
These types of units work well in open plan offices/ areas meeting rooms and bored rooms.
